Thanks to thisiscolossal.com today, I delighted in seeing these gorgeous photos taken by Atlanta-based photographer Theron Humphrey, who’s traveling through all 50 states of the US at the moment with his very cool and very acrobat-like dog Maddie, who it appears can stand on just about anything!
The website is called ‘maddieonthings.com’, and its linked to another collaborative project called This Wild Idea, which Theron began recently. He plans on spending 365 days travelling America and meeting ‘everyday people’, who he will photograph along the way (see photos below!). He’s calling out for people to track his progress and get involved. I loved looking through these photos. Truly a great idea as well as a wild one. I found his photos to be personal and warm, and you do get a sense that what he is photographing is indeed filled with life and purpose in the everyday lives of these ‘everyday people’.
“The goal is straightforward, but I need your help! I’m going meet 1 new person a day, everyday, for 365 days. The goal is to makes images that age well and increase in value over time; images that will become part of your family story, which we can pass on to the next generation.”
Unfortunately, disaster struck on new years eve 2011 when his car was broken into and with it- his photography gear and photographs collected on two external hard drives robbed. He is calling out for donations….so please help Theron if you can!!! You can donate through paypal here.
